My Tech Journey — From Curiosity to Code

From Curiosity to Career

Back in 2017, I built my first WordPress site without any idea what I was doing. That one experiment lit a spark — and that spark grew into a career.

Today, I work at rtCamp as both a QA Engineer and WordPress Developer, merging precision with creativity.

I’ve learned that success in tech doesn’t come from knowing everything — it comes from showing up, learning fast, and caring deeply about what you build.

My Dual Role — QA + Dev

QA Engineer

  • Automate tests using Playwright
  • Manually test WordPress plugins & themes
  • Debug random, “why-is-this-happening” issues
  • Optimize pipelines & workflows
  • Focus on real-user experience

Developer

  • Build and customize WordPress themes & plugins
  • Work with PHP, JavaScript, React, and REST APIs
  • Automate repetitive development tasks
  • Bridge QA + Dev to make testing smarter and faster

“Testing taught me patience. Development taught me creativity. Together, they made me adaptable.”

My WordPress Story

WordPress wasn’t just a platform — it was my entry into open source and community.
I proudly contribute to:

Core WordPress Development
Polyglots (translations & reviews)
Photos Directory
Helping new contributors
WordCamps & local events

These experiences taught me that collaboration is the real engine behind great software.

Tools & Tech Stack

  • Playwright – automation & end-to-end testing
  • GitHub / Bitbucket / GitLab – version control
  • Jest, Cypress – additional testing tools
  • React / Node.js – for side projects
  • PHP / MySQL – WordPress development
  • AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot) – for smarter workflows

My Values

  • Quality: Every detail matters.
  • Consistency: Progress > perfection.
  • Empathy: Tech should serve humans, not frustrate them.

“Automation isn’t about removing humans — it’s about freeing them to think better.”

The Road Ahead

In the next few years, I’m aiming to become a QA Team Lead, guiding teams to merge quality assurance and development seamlessly.
Alongside that, I plan to launch a small e-commerce brand that supports sustainable, locally made products.

Beyond the Screen

When I’m not deep in code or test cases, I:

  • Watch movies (a lot 😄)
  • Read about human psychology
  • Travel and explore new places
  • Create content around parenting & mindful living

Life’s balance keeps me grounded and creative.

My Core Lessons

  • Survived layoffs and learned resilience.
  • Picked up new tools when pressure was high.
  • Grew through mistakes, not perfection.
  • Use AI as a creative partner, not a replacement.

“Show up. Stay available. Stay hungry. Keep pushing.”

Closing Note

I’m grateful for how far I’ve come — from building my first WordPress site to now shaping quality for others.
If you’re a QA Engineer, WordPress Dev, or someone figuring out your path in tech — keep going. Your curiosity is your superpower.
